1983 Chevy El Camino WOW!!! This 1983 Chevy El Camino SS is an amazing classic vehicle, in the 5th Generation of El Caminos produced by Chevy. Ours is powered by a Chevy 5.0L V8 engine, and this baby will flat get up and go. And she sounds great, with twin side exhaust pipes behind the ground effects lower trim. Hear the engine roar at just the right level but not too much. The Engine is tuned-up and purrs, and the Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly through the gears from 0 mph to 70 or more. There is a tach, and typical of the day the speedometer caps out at 85. In 1983 Chevy reportedly built 19,513 El Caminos, and only 2,914 of them were Super Sports (one way to tell is the original Super Sport plaque on the dash). Some owners picked 1983 as one of the more desirable years, but no matter your preference, this one is a beauty. The paint glistens, the rims sparkle, and the ground effects package sets this apart from competitors. A/C blows cold, the JVC AM / FM / CD plays the tunes, the Sub-woofer gives you plenty of volume, the cloth bucket seats are in great condition, and the tinted windows complete the effect.
